Our History
Mr. Muhammad Shafi, the CEO of the company, belongs to the renowned Chhipa
family, historically recognized for their exceptional block printing
craftsmanship in Rajasthan prior to the Indo-Pak partition. The family’s
long-standing involvement in textile dyes and chemicals laid the foundation
for deep technical knowledge and industry expertise passed down through
generations.The word “Chhipa” originates from the Gujarati term “chhapa,” meaning to print, reflecting the community’s strong heritage in textile
craftsmanship.Established in 1968 by Ghulam Rasool, G.R. Traders began its operations as an
importer of dyes and textile chemicals. In 1982, the company achieved a key
milestone by becoming the sole agent in Pakistan for M. Dohman GmbH & Co., a
well-known German corporation.
Further growth followed with expansion into organic herbs and seeds in 2011
and a strategic partnership with Akkim, a leading chemical manufacturer
based in Turkey, in 2020. Today, G.R. Traders continues to strengthen its
presence through trusted partnerships and consistent quality.
